Notes: Rusty has settled in well and already knows the routine. There has been a couple of disagreements with our resident dogs but they are all just sorting themselves out and seem more confident in each other now. He is now dominant over my Cattle Dog Jack but not over Buddy the beagle and not as timid as I thought, not really timid at all. After a disagreement with Batman the cat and 2 scratches on his nose he now is somewhat respectful. I'm sure it won't be long before Batman is smooching up to him. Rusty has met the horses and actually seemed quite disinterested in them until he hung off the tail of one of them this morning.

He will sit, drop and stay on command. One time I asked him to sit and stay then turned my back walked 20 meters across the paddock and he didn't move. He responds to 'no' immediately, you can take food from him without a problem. He loves to swim, play fetch and be ruffed up, just need to watch he doesn't wander off as he doesn't always come when called yet. He has met some of the other dogs in the street and all was good. He doesn't appear to be obsessed with anything or have any hang-ups unlike my Jack.

He has a lovely nature, will always be there to greet you at the door or the gate and follow you everywhere. He is a happy dog and smiling all the time now - except for when he gets in trouble after hanging on horses tails.

He sleeps at the door of the house and loves getting wrapped up in a blanket, he doesn't want to sleep in the shed with Buddy and Jack where it is much warmer. Rusty can also shake hands and is now good with the resident cat Batman!
