RILEY
Riley (DOB - 24/1/09) is an intelligent, affectionate young pedigree ACD who came to the RSPCA Sydney Shelter due to a change in his owners circumstances. He was initially quite scared of all the strangers and loud noises, however with time & patience he has been able to display the confidence he had at home. Riley would love to go to a home with another dog and loves to play with toys. Riley is still wary of lots of handling around his back legs and would benefit from an experienced Cattle Dog owner to give him some additional training and socialisation. Riley is an extremely handsome boy and in great condition. If you would like more information about his behaviour or photos please don't hesitate to call or email.
ROXY
Roxy is an active 7mo female Cattle Dog cross who is looking for a new home. Although she is deaf, she is playful, alert and enjoy peoples company. Roxy is quite full on with other dogs so would need to meet any potential friends she would be living with. She is very food motivated and has graduated from a basic training program. There she learnt how to sit, come, stay, drop, and walk well on the lead. When training a deaf dog remember to use hand signals and be consistent. Make sure you reward Roxy for just paying attention to you. Roxy isn't suitable for a home where there are cats or pocket pets as she will chase them which they will find stressful. Roxy's new yard must have a fence the height of at least 5 feet with no gaps or holes that she will be able to escape from. This is particularly important for deaf dogs as they can't hear hazards approaching.
