Rusty was handed in to be rehomed after his new owners had only had him for several weeks after adopting him from his previous owner who was unwell. They reported that while not particularly responsive to them – they said he needs firm commands – he has been trained to sit, stay, come and down. He is supposed to also have some herding training.

Rusty, who is only about 8 months old, is great with people - including children - and loves other dogs. Unsure about cats. When handled by ACD Rescue, he was pretty wild and woolly but didn't jump up. He settled down after a run, sniff and empty out. He does know sit and down, but wasn't particularly keen on coming when called, but was more amenable once a ball and some food treats were produced. His current owners said he was check chain correction trained. Quite affectionate too. He is going to be a big solid boy when he matures, but would make someone a nice companion with further training. Certainly, he wasn't reactive to the other dogs, even 2 other dogs who were growling at him through the chain link.
